Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Fiji Islands was hit by one of the world’s biggest and fiercest cyclone last week. The death toll has climbed up to 42 and close to 20,00 people are in evacuation centres. Many people have been left homeless and 67 schools have been destroyed or severely damaged. There is an urgent need for food, clean water, clothes and medical supplies.

At Taqwa Trust is organising the shipment of these badly needed supplies to Fiji as soon as possible so that those suffering can receive them in time.

  • Haldi, masala and other spices

  • Paracetamol
  • Other medical supplies
  • School bags
  • Exercise books (1B5, 1E5)
  • Stationery: pencils, pens, rulers, erasers and sharpeners.
  • Clothing: Shirts, T-shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, slippers, sandals, sulus, ladies clothing,
  • Bedding: blankets, bedsheets, pillows, pillow cases.

We request everyone to please donate good and clean clothes (No rags or torn and worn-out clothes). Last day for clothes donations is Thursday 3 March.

We also need boxes of Qur’an copies for Muslim schools and masjids.

You can purchase ready-made packs from Get Fresh Otahuhu for $50 which includes 5kg flour, 5kg basmati rice, 4kg raw sugar, 2 litre oil, 100teabags, 1 packet Rewa powdered milk, 5 pkt noodles, 3 pkt biscuits, 1kg salt, 5 canned tuna, 100g haldi and 100g masala.
